The Hambidge Center provides a residency program that empowers talented artists, writers, musicians, dancers, scientists and more to explore, develop, and express their creative voices. Situated on 600 acres in the Blue Ridge Mountains of north Georgia, Hambidge is a sanctuary of time and space that inspires artists working in a broad range of disciplines to create works of the highest caliber.
The Hambidge property features the Weave Shed Gallery, a gallery and gift shop that features a historical display of the center. Gallery/shop hours: Tuesday - Friday, 9am - 4pm; Saturday, 10am - 5pm.
Hambidge also maintains Barker's Creek Mill, a historic water-powered grist mill. The public is invited to the see the Mill in action (and buy stone-ground grits and cornmeal) on the 1st Saturday of every month, 1-4pm, as part of the Hambidge Saturday Series, a series of rotating programs that include artist talks, nature hikes, gristmill visits, gallery openings and other special events.
