Description:

On Saturday, November 5, 2016, the Hiwassee River Watershed Coalition will host its 6th Annual Lake Chatuge Shoreline Cleanup, in conjunction with Rivers Alive! The event will kick off at the Towns County Swim Beach Pavilion at 9:00AM with breakfast and coffee. Volunteer coordinators will lead teams of 5-8 to designated trash sites along the shores of Lake Chatuge and we’ll meet back at the swim beach pavilion at noon for prizes and refreshments. The first 100 volunteers to sign-in will receive a free Rivers Alive t-shirt.

Prizes will be awarded to volunteers who collect the most trash, find the most unique items, and uncover the hidden golden trash treasure. This year’s prizes include a four-hour ski boat rental and equipment from Young Harris Water Sports, a two-hour pontoon boat rental from The Ridges Resort & Marina, and horseback riding passes for the Stables at Brasstown Valley.

Sponsors and partners for the 2016 event include: Tennessee Valley Authority, Boundary Waters Resort & Marina, USFS Blue Ridge Ranger District, Towns County Government, Papas Pizza To-Go, Hiawassee Ingles, Georgia DNR, and the Towns County Chamber of Commerce.

Meet at Towns County Swim Beach Pavilion.
