Georgia Mountain Laurel Magazine

Art Exhibit Opening

Our March art exhibition will feature the works of artist, Jackie Freitag. Join us at Noble Wine Cellar from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. for a personal tour of the works of the artist, light appetizers, and specials by the glass. Admission is $5. Jackie was born in Brussels Belgium. She came to the USA in her early twenties. Art has always been a curiousity and a secret love for her. While living in Brussels and Paris, she was constantly reminded of the fabulous artists surrounding her. Colors were her motivation, but raising six children was taking all of her time and art seemed to fade from her mind until her early sixties. At this time, she started to play with all sorts of mediums, with the encouragement of friends like Fritsie Redmond, who reminded her that everyone is an artist. Pat Calderone gave her the confidence to trust in herself as did Ted, her husband, and many other wonderful fireinds in her life. Jackie still uses many different mediums, but most of her art is acrylic and pen. Now with her connection to spirituality and those deep feelings of expression, she feels blessed. She is now 74 years old and she knows this is a total relaization of a young woman's dream. Noble Wine Cellar features the works of our talented area artists monthly. We invite you to stop in anytime for a wine tasting, great Georgia made products, or to take in the art.
