Spring in the mountains is in full force with summer right around the corner. One of the biggest draws of our area is the abundant outdoor recreation that is such a huge part of everyday life here. From hiking trails to waterfalls and rafting to golf there is plenty to keep any outdoor enthusiast busy. We have highlighted several of the activities in this issue and hope it spurs you to GET OUT and play!We have shared with you recipes to use when you purchase those big juicy red strawberries that are being picked and placed in the farmer's and fresh markets throughout our region. Get them while they are there and stick them in the freezer for later use. One of the best parts of summer is the fresh veggies and fruit that tastes so good and are so good for you!
Our Foxfire article will take you through travels on the Appalachian Trails and Peter McIntosh's Adventure Out this month takes us to Albert Mountain in North Carolina. There are so many wonderful ways to enjoy creation and to show gratitude to our creator.
We'll get a glance into the Good Work of Rotary in Rabun and don't miss Emory Jones' last thought in the By the Way column. We hope you enjoy this issue and encourage you to share it with a friend. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your month and please thank an advertiser for supporting us.
One final thought is to remember those who have served this country and their families this Memorial Day and everyday!
